Scholarships & Financing

Corporate scholarships promote professional connections to the fields our sponsors work in, and can be applied for by candidates going through the admissions process.

Since its founding, GASMA has partnered with many companies and organizations related to the gastronomy sector. These partnerships gave rise to the Corporate scholarship program, in which our sponsors voluntarily contribute financial support to students of the Bachelor's Degree in Gastronomy.

Application requirements

Open to all candidates of Spanish nationality. Minimum requirement: a 7/10 GPA and enrollment in the full course load for the academic year.

Merits

• Having a higher grade average than other applicants, assessed as excellent by the Committee.
• Proven proficiency in one or more languages.
• Cultural or sporting activities carried out by the candidate.

Documentation required

• CV with photograph.
• For domestic students: academic transcript with grades from 3rd and 4th year of ESO (secondary school), 1st year of Bachillerato/vocational training (CFGS), and average grade of 2nd year of Bachillerato/CFGS. For international students: average grades from the first year of upper secondary school.
• Copy of the university entrance exam card. (Spanish students only).
• Family income tax return for the last fiscal year.
• Language certification documents (optional).
• Documentation proving cultural and sporting activity (optional).
• A personal letter of motivation.

Deadlines

• Until July 15: submission of applications and documentation.
• July 21: scholarship decisions.

This grant program rewards the effort and dedication of Bachelor's Degree students and is based on the student's commitment to a maximum of 20 hours per week of collaborative tasks in University activities, in exchange for a monthly stipend that the student can use to help cover part of their studies. The activities carried out by the recipient of this grant are usually related to the skills they're learning in their degree, so on top of the financial benefit, it's also an opportunity to strengthen their own training.

Application requirements

The award criteria depend on the different activity profiles, and are published when the grants are announced. This grant is incompatible with any other type of work, whether inside or outside the University. It can only be held for 2 years (1+1).

Merits

Having a higher grade average than other applicants, assessed as excellent by the Committee. Proven proficiency in one or more languages.

Documentation required:

• CV with photograph.
• For domestic students: academic transcript with grades from 3rd and 4th year of ESO (secondary school), 1st year of Bachillerato/vocational training (CFGS), and average grade of 2nd year of Bachillerato/CFGS. For international students: average grades from the first year of upper secondary school.

Being awarded the scholarship means a 50% discount on the total price of the first year. The discount applies starting in the second semester of the year, provided the student has passed (with no minimum grade required) the 30 ECTS credits of the first semester.

Application requirements

Only candidates newly admitted to the university can apply for this scholarship.

Candidates with a gastronomy background: Meet the University's admission requirements through any admission route, and prove at least 1 year of prior experience in the hospitality/food sector, or an entrepreneurial project of their own in the sector. Candidates who meet the University's admission requirements through any admission route and can show a lifelong interest in gastronomy, having taken part in cooking workshops, competitions or other events in the gastronomy sector, will also be considered eligible for this profile. Supporting documentation will be requested.

Merits

To award the scholarships, the Committee will assess the following merits when evaluating candidates:

1. Having a higher grade average in prior studies than other candidates, assessed as excellent by the Committee.
2. Having prior professional experience closely related to the Bachelor's Degree in Gastronomy.
3. Proven proficiency in one or more languages. Standard, commonly used certificates will be accepted as proof of level. Only foreign languages will be considered merits, not languages that are co-official in a Spanish autonomous community.
4. Non-work activities related to the hospitality/gastronomy sector carried out by the candidate. Candidates may submit documentation they consider proves this activity and/or letters of recommendation from those under whose supervision they carried it out.

Deadlines

• Until June 23: submission of applications and documentation.
• June 28: scholarship decisions.

Being awarded this scholarship means the candidate will receive a 50% discount on the total cost of the first year for the program they've chosen.

The student will also keep that discount on the total price for every year of their program, as long as they continue to meet the conditions set out in the scholarship terms.

Application requirements

Open to all candidates whose admission route is Bachillerato and/or Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior (Spanish upper secondary/vocational tracks), who qualify as new students of the Bachelor's Degree in Gastronomy for the 25/26 academic year, and who can prove an average grade of 9 or higher in the first year of Bachillerato or the first year of Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior.

Merits

To award the scholarships, the Committee will assess the following merits when evaluating candidates:

1. Having a higher grade average in prior studies than other candidates, assessed as excellent by the Committee.
2. Proven proficiency in one or more languages. Standard, commonly used certificates will be accepted as proof of level. Only foreign languages will be considered merits, not languages that are co-official in a Spanish autonomous community.
3. Non-work activities related to the hospitality/gastronomy sector carried out by the candidate. Candidates may submit documentation they consider proves this activity and/or letters of recommendation from those under whose supervision they carried it out.

• July 10: scholarship decisions.

Being awarded the scholarship means a 50% discount on the total price of the first year. The discount applies starting in the second semester of the year, provided the student has passed (with no minimum grade required) the 30 ECTS credits of the first semester.

Application requirements

Open to all candidates whose admission route is Bachillerato and/or Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior (Spanish upper secondary/vocational tracks), who qualify as new students of the Bachelor's Degree in Gastronomy for the 25/26 academic year, and who can prove an average grade of 9 or higher in the first year of Bachillerato or the first year of Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior.

Merits

To award the scholarships, the Committee will assess the following merits when evaluating candidates:

1. Having a higher grade average in prior studies than other candidates, assessed as excellent by the Committee.
2. Proving to be a first-degree relative (child, parent) of a hospitality and/or food industry professional.
3. Proving, through a business license or corresponding supporting document, at least two years of family business activity (either as the business owner or as an employee).
4. Proven proficiency in one or more languages. Standard, commonly used certificates will be accepted as proof of level. Only foreign languages will be considered merits, not languages that are co-official in a Spanish autonomous community.
5. Non-work activities related to the hospitality/gastronomy sector carried out by the candidate. Candidates may submit documentation they consider proves this activity and/or letters of recommendation from those under whose supervision they carried it out.

The Honor Roll Scholarship recognizes academic excellence with a direct discount on the cost of tuition. New students who achieved an overall Honor Roll distinction in Bachillerato will receive full tuition waiver for the first year of their program.

Application requirements

Open to students entering a university degree program for the first time who achieved an overall Honor Roll grade in Bachillerato during the year immediately before starting their university studies.

This discount applies only to students entering through the Bachillerato track of the Spanish education system who take the full first year. It does not apply to other admission routes, such as academic record transfer or credit recognition.

Award criteria

The award depends exclusively on academic excellence. No other additional merits are assessed: achieving an overall Honor Roll distinction in Bachillerato grants direct access to a full tuition waiver for the first year.

During the Bachelor's Degree

Students who achieve Honor Roll distinction in one or more subjects during their degree will receive, in the following year, a discount equivalent to the cost of the number of ECTS credits in which they achieved that grade.

For example, an Honor Roll distinction in a 6-ECTS subject will result in a discount equivalent to the cost of those 6 ECTS credits the following year.

Application

It is not subject to a competitive process or a specific decision date. The discount is applied according to the academic grade obtained and the conditions set by the University.
